Study on Mechanical Properties of Rectangular Thin-Walled Tube Reinforced Concrete Columns
With the application background of"warehouse-shelves integrative storage structural system",axial loading tests on 8 thin-walled tube reinforced concrete columns were carried out,the bearing capacity,load-displacement curves and mid-span deflection curves were obtained, and the failure modes were summarized. The test results showed that the columns mainly failed in section damage, and different shear screw arrangements would lead to different damage modes. The failure mode and load-displacement curve were captured by numerical simulation, where a reasonable good agreement was observed between the predicted and tested results. It was concluded that the difference in ultimate bearing capacity was due to the various degrees of concrete weakening caused by different shear screw arrangements.Based on the comparison of design codes in various countries,a design formula for the predicting the bearing capacity was given.
