The Impact of Intergenerational Support from Children on the Life Satisfaction of Elderly People in Rural China
As the aging of the rural population in China deepens,the issue of life satisfaction among the elderly in rural areas has be-come a focal point of academic.This study,based on the 2020 survey data from the CFPS database,uses an ordered logistic model to explore this issue.The study finds,after introducing control variables of personal characteristics,medical health,and family charac-teristics,the impact of children's caregiving on the life satisfaction of the elderly is greatest.In addition,factors such as marital status,educational level,medical conditions,health status,and the number of children also have a significant impact on the satisfaction of the elderly in rural areas.The results of this study help us to better understand the life satisfaction of the elderly in rural areas and provide useful references for the quality of rural elderly care.
