Fiscal Transfer Payments and the Urban Rural Gap:Overview and Prospects
Striving to promote urban-rural integration and regional coordinated development has always been an important part of Chi-na's construction of a new development pattern and the promotion of informed quality development.The transfer payment system is also an important means of coordinating urban-rural development.Therefore,the article elaborates on how fiscal transfer payments af-fect urban-rural development by reviewing existing literature,which has a positive impact on narrowing the urban-rural gap and achieving common prosperity in the future.At present,the discussion on the relationship between the two is not very unified,but the positive role of fiscal transfer payments in narrowing the urban-rural gap is highly recognized.In future research,we can further im-prove the evaluation system of urban-rural gap,enrich the perspective of studying the relationship between the two,or explore effec-tive ways to narrow the urban-rural gap from the perspective of the transfer payment system itself.
