Uncertainty Assessment of VOC Emission from Furniture by Climate Chamber Method
VOC climate chamber method and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)were used to determine the volatile organic compounds(VOCs)released in furniture products, and the uncertainty was quantified and evaluated. With the rapid development of analysis technology, the measurement accuracy and accuracy requirements are getting higher and higher, due to the interference of measurement tools and environmental factors, there is a certain deviation between the measured value and the real value, and the measurement uncertainty gives a reasonable range of measurement results, which improves the accuracy of the measurement results to evaluate the sample. There are many factors that introduce uncertainty in the determination of VOC release uncertainty, such as:gas recovery process, standard curve fitting, reference materials,VOC climate chamber internal environment, repeatability measurement process, etc.Using toluene as a typical compound, the extended uncertainty was 0.0042 mg/m3 when the toluene emission of furniture was 0.0136 mg/m3.The analysis results show that the standard curve fitting and the uncertainty generated by the internal environment of the VOC climate chamber are the main factors.
