Synthesis and Antioxidant Properties of SiC-ZrC Composite Ultrafine Powders
SiC ZrC composite powders were prepared by carbothermal reduction using zirconium dioxide, silica sol and carbon black as precursor materials. The effect of reaction temperature on the ignition loss rate, phase composition, and microstructure of SiC-ZrC composite powders was studied.Diffractometer(XRD),scanning electron microscope(SEM)and comprehensive thermal analyzer(TG-DTA)were used to test and analyze the powder samples. The results showed that SiC-ZrC composite powders were successfully synthesized by carbothermal reduction method at a synthesis temperature above 1500℃.The characteristic diffraction peaks of SiC and ZrC mainly exist in the synthesized products at 1550℃~1600℃,and the crystallinity of the synthesized products is good, indicating that the synthesis reaction under this condition is relatively complete.Compared with 1550℃,there is a certain amount of whiskers in the synthesized product at 1600℃,and there are similar spherical, short rod-shaped,and flocculent particles, forming a diverse microstructure.
