Preparation of Amphoteric Copolymer P(AM-AA-AMPS-DAC)Emulsion with Salt Resistance by Inverse Emulsion Polymerization
Amphoteric acrylamide copolymer P(AM-AA-AMPS-DAC)was prepared by inverse emulsion polymerization, with white oil(W1-TB)as oil phase,Span-80 and Tween-80 as emulsifiers, and ammonium persulfate(APS)as initiator.Acrylamide(AM),acrylic acid(AA),2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid(AMPS),and acryloyloyloxyethyltrimethylammonium chloride(DAC)were used as polymeric monomers. The effects of oil-water ratio, emulsifier dosage, initiator dosage, monomer dosage and pH value on the apparent viscosity of copolymer were studied as well. The results show that amphoteric acrylamide copolymer emulsion was prepared under the conditions of oil-water ratio of 1∶1,emulsifier dosage of 3%(in terms of the total mass of the system, the same below),initiator dosage of 0.06%,monomer dosage of 35%,initial initiation temperature of 60 ℃,and the pH value of 7.The amphoteric acrylamide copolymer emulsion showed good salt resistance with an apparent viscosity value of 150 mPa·s in deionised water and 60mPa·s in brine with degree of mineralisation of 30 000 mg/L,with a viscosity retention of 40%.
