Engineering chemistry is a major public basic course offered by higher engineering colleges in China for certain non chemical and chemical engineering majors.It closely relates to the actual development of industry and modernization,reflects the bridge and link between chemistry and engineering technology,and is also crucial for broadening the knowledge of college students and improving their scientific literacy and innovation ability.This article starts from the two aspects of"teaching"and"learning"in engineering chemistry,focusing on the first class,the improvement of scientific literacy of college students,and all-round education.At the same time,a comprehensive summary of classroom teaching experience was conducted on the learning attitudes,interests,and self-directed learning of college students,for communication among colleagues.It is hoped that this article can provide reference for future teaching reforms.
