Preparation and Properties of PLA/PBAT Composite Modified by Plasticizer 705
Different compositions of benzoate plasticizer 705 modified polylactic acid/poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate)composites were prepared by melt blending using a twin-screw extruder. The effects of plasticizer 705 content on the processing flow properties, thermodynamic properties, and mechanical properties of the composites were studied using a melt flow rate meter, differential scanning calorimeter, thermogravimetric analyzer,microcomputer-controlled electronic universal testing machine, and pendulum impact tester. The results showed that compared to the composite without plasticizer 705,the melt flow rate increased from 15.12 g/10min to 33.27 g/10min,an increase of 120.0%,when the plasticizer 705 content was 15 parts.Increasing the plasticizer 705 content promoted the movement of polymer molecular chains, resulting in lower crystallization temperature, cold crystallization temperature, and melting temperature of the composites,as well as a decrease in the initial decomposition temperature.Adding 2 parts of plasticizer 705 appropriately improved the tensile strength, while adding 15 parts of plasticizer 705 significantly reduced the tensile strength, flexural modulus, and flexural strength of the composites. And the notched impact strength reached 18.3 KJ/m2,an increase of 325.6%.
