Abstract
Objective:To investigate the expression of Discs large homolog associated protein 5(DLGAP5)in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)and its clinical significance. Methods:The expression of DLGAP5 protein in 144 pairs of hepatocellular carcinoma tissues and corresponding para-carcinoma tissues was detected by immunohistochemical method. The relationship between its expression and clinicopathological features of patients was analyzed.Kaplan-Meier survival curve was drawn to analyze the influence of DLGAP5 expression on prognosis of patients. Results:The positive rate of DLGAP5 expression in hepatocellular carcinoma tissues was 77.8%,which was higher than 38.9%in para-carcinoma tissues, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).DLGAP5 expression was correlated with tumor diameter,TNM stage, vascular thrombus and tumor envelope integrity(P<0.05),but not with gender, age, hepatitis B surface antigen, cirrhosis and distant metastasis(P>0.05).Kaplan-Meier survival curve analysis demonstrated that the overall survival rate of patients with high expression of DLGAP5 was significantly lower than that of patients with low expression of DLGAP5,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The expression of DLGAP5 protein is increased in HCC,and its high expression is related to the poor prognosis of patients.
