Translation of Unreliable Narrative Fiction from the Perspective of Translator Behavior Criticism
As a rhetoric of novels in broad sense, unreliable narration participates in the discourse construction, text construction and the spiritual construction of the implied author. With the guidance of translator behavior criticism, this research illuminates the interpretive approach to unreliable narration and rethinks its types as well as its interpretation mechanisms. Then,in accordance with the specific characteristics of unreliable narrative fiction, this study sheds fresh light on"truth-seeking","translator behavior pattern","intra-translation effect"and"extra-translation effect"by the"truth-seeking-utility-attaining"evaluative model of continuum.Accordingly,we establish a triad paradigm of"text-behavior-society"for translator behavior criticism particular to the translation of unreliable narrative novels. To testify the feasibility of this paradigm, this study takes Happy Dreams(ST & TT)as its example. It is hoped that this study can promise some light and impetus for modern and contemporary translation of novels at home and abroad as well as translator behavior criticism.
