Based on the theory of"author identity anxiety",this paper analyzes the physical space,realistic space and literary space in the poetry creation of American confessional female writer Anne Sexton from three aspects:the sources of female author identity anxiety,the spatial expression of gender identity anxiety and the relief of author identity anxiety.By exploring the crazy writing style of"madwoman",it is concluded that the identity anxiety of female writers stems from the suppression of male dominated cultural society and the complex psychology of poets in the creative process.With the help of analysis of the multidimensional identity anxiety of poets,this study reveals the painful experiences of women in the creative process,providing new opportunities and patterns for establishing a harmonious literary creation environment between genders.
