Effect of SDS surfactant aqueous solution on the lifting performance of bubble pump
Bubble pump is a kind of thermal drive power device, mainly relying on the buoyancy of bubbles to lift the liquid. Its ability to lift the liquid is a significant index for estimating the performance of bubble pump.Sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS)anionic surfactant was used as the working medium to add into the bubble pump. The heating power was 150 W,250 W,350 W,450 W,and 550 W,respectively. The concentration of SDS aqueous solution was 10 mg/L,90 mg/L,and 170 mg/L,respectively.The lifting performance of full-length heating bubble pump under different working conditions was investigated and compared with that of bubble pump with deionized water as the working medium. The results show that the gas generation in the bubble pump is independent of the concentration of SDS aqueous solution at each power. The liquid lift and pumping ratio increase with SDS concentration at lower power, but the opposite is true at higher power. With the increase of SDS aqueous solution concentration, the instantaneous flow fluctuation of bubble pump increases, and the pressure fluctuation in tube increases. All these indicate that the pumping stability of bubble pump decreases with the increase of SDS aqueous solution concentration.
