Research on biomass gasification technology for the production of green methanol
Green methanol is one of the promising alternative fuels for future ocean-going vessels, and biomass gasification is a key step in the process of producing green methanol. This study compares the advantages, disadvantages, and applicable scales of various types of biomass gasifiers, surveys typical domestic and international biomass gasification processes, fuel applicability, and engineering applications. The results show that fluidized beds are currently the mainstream bed type for biomass gasification. The necessity of non-catalytic partial oxidation is proposed based on the composition requirements of synthesis gas,and it is pointed out that burner design is one of the key technologies for non-catalytic partial oxidation.Considering the pre-treatment cost of biomass for methanol production, production scale, and technical feasibility, the main technological routes for the production of green methanol are proposed.
