Research on the application of hot water heat storage and peak shaving to improve the energy efficiency of thermal power units
A 330 MW thermal power unit from a thermal power plant in northern China was selected to study its energy consumption characteristics coupled with hot water storage and peak shaving. The results show that when the heat load is 300 MW,the minimum power generation load of the unit can be reduced by 62.76 MW under the condition of heat storage peak shaving, which is 27.7%lower than that of the original unit, and the deep peak regulation capacity of the unit is improved. After the unit is equipped with a heat storage device, the maximum energy utilization efficiency and maximum efficiency are increased. After the unit is operated by hot water storage device for peak shaving, the total coal consumption can be reduced by 23.48 t/d on a typical day.
