A Comparative Study on the Application Effectiveness of Two Restoration Techniques in Specific Damaged Ancient Books from the Perspective of Time Testing——A Case Study of the Restoration of Modified Lingmi 18 Prescriptions
The reasonable selection and application of ancient book restoration techniques are crucial for the work of ancient book restoration.The article retrospectively examines the experimental restoration process of ancient books that were repaired 13 years ago using both manual pulp repair method and traditional local repair method from the perspective of time testing.After 13 years of restoration,the shape data of the ancient books were tested and the ef-fectiveness was analyzed and compared again.The article focuses on the repair speed,flatness,thickness,acidity and alkalinity of the book leaves and paper,shrinkage,firmness,and uniformity of the fibers.The advantages and limitations of the two restoration techniques are summarized to further verify the scientific and rational application of the two techniques on specific damaged ancient books.
