Application of Acanthus Decorative Patterns in Furniture
The decorative pattern of acanthus is a traditional decorative art pattern in Europe,which has rich cultural con-notation and aesthetic ideas and can be used for reference in the development and innovation of furniture.In order to pro-vide new ideas for the modem and innovative application of the decorative patterns of acanthus tuberosus,the evolution process and modeling structure characteristics of the decorative patterns of acanthus tuberosus were explored.Taking the decorative pattern of acanthus tuberosus as the research object,the evolution and development of the decorative pattern of acanthus tuberosus were analyzed with the method of literature analysis.Following the clue of the times,the influ-ence of different periods,backgrounds and regions on the changes of the decorative pattern shape of the acanthus tu-berosus was discussed.The structural characteristics of the decorative pattern of the acanthus tuberosus were obtained,and the S-shaped acanthus leaves extracted from the decorative pattern elements of the acanthus tuberosus were designed and transformed with the method of deformation and recombination.Based on the modern and innovative application ideas of acanthus decorative patterns on the furniture polished with melted wax,the design works of tea table with acan-thus decorative patterns through CAD and 3ds MAX software are proposed.
