Cinema seats are the furniture that contact with the audience directly and for the longest time.At the same time,the design of cinema seats becomes particularly important because of the special environment inside the cinema.Young people account for the majority of moviegoers,so we need to focus on the physiological and psychological charac-teristics of young people and their demand for cinema seats.Through field research,the dimensions of seat surface,back-rest,armrest and row spacing of cinema seats were measured and observed on the spot.Through questionnaire survey,the use needs of cinema seats of young people were deeply understood.It was found that the appearance of present cine-ma seats is relatively traditional,with few additional functions,which cannot fully meet the needs of young people for watching films.Based on the survey results,this paper proposed the design suggestions of cinema seats suitable for young people in aspects of size,material,color,convenient storage and adjustable additional functions,which can pro-vide reference for the future design of cinema seats for young people.
