Furniture design course is a course with the combination of theory and practice.Traditional furniture design lectures have problems such as inadequate practical knowledge teaching,outdated furniture design furnishing display ef-fect drawing production method,insecure mechanical practice,costly and lack of timely updating of practical training machinery and furniture raw material.The virtual reality(VR)technology was proposed for use in the furniture design practice teaching.Virtual reality technology can stimulate students learning interest so as to enhance the learning experi-ence,achieve the effect of contextual learning,and promote knowledge absorption.Virtual reality technology supports the creation of learning environment and the realization of practical skills training.By creating VR technology furniture design practice lecturing system,a highly simulated operable and vivid virtual learning environment of furniture design practice course was constructed by means of visual dynamic picture,virtual simulation operation,repeated virtual opera-tion and timely update of information of virtual simulation technology.
