Experiment study on the impact of gas adsorption on the tri-axial mechanical properties of coal
It is an important prerequisite to study and prevent coal and gas outburst disasters to accu-rately master the influence of mechanical properties of coal after methane adsorption. This paper ana-lyzes the C2 and C3 coal seams of No.1 Well in Yuwang Coal Mine,East Yunnan, and studies the in-fluence of different factors on coal mechanical properties under different methane adsorption equilibri-um pressures and confining pressures by triaxial compression experiments. The results show that when the adsorption equilibrium pressure is constant, the compressive strength, elastic modulus and maximum strain of coal samples are positively correlated with the confining pressure; When the confi-ning pressure is constant, the compressive strength, elastic modulus and maximum strain of coal sam-ples are negatively correlated with the confining pressure;Under the same adsorption equilibrium pressure, with the increase of confining pressure, the longitudinal wave velocity of coal samples shows a rising trend, and the amplitude of longitudinal wave velocity increase is not more than 5%;Under the same confining pressure, with the increase of adsorption equilibrium pressure, the coal vol-ume expands continuously, leading to a downward trend of longitudinal wave velocity, and the longi-tudinal wave velocity increases by about 10%;In any stress environment, the strength and elastic modulus of high rank coal are lower than those of low rank coal. The research results provide necessa-ry theoretical support for gas disaster prevention and control.
