The Agglomeration of Producer Services and Urban Green Total Factor Productivity:New Mechanism and Evidence in the Digital Economy
In the era of digital economy, how can the agglomeration of producer services drive the im-provement of urban green total factor productivity?Based on the analysis of relevant impact mechanisms, this paper uses the data from 2012 to 2019 of 281 cities in China to make an empirical test, and further explores its indirect paths and spatial spillover effect. The results show that the agglomeration of producer services in the digital economy is more conducive to promoting the improvement of urban green total factor productivity.How-ever,the heterogeneity analysis finds that urban location, urban development stage, industrial agglomeration mode and industry type can make the above impact have different effects. The mechanism test shows that the agglomeration of producer services in the digital economy can affect urban green total factor productivity through urban entrepreneurial activity and capital factor flow. After considering the spatial factors, the agglom-eration of producer services in the digital economy has significant spatial spillover effects on the green total fac-tor productivity of the surrounding cities. Therefore,it is necessary for the agglomeration of producer services to seize the opportunities of digital economy development and to improve the urban green total factor productivi-ty more powerfully.
