Study on the Influence of Digital Value-Added Imports on China's Position in International Division of Labor
Promoting the status of international division of labor in manufacturing industry is the key to maintaining the safety of industrial chain.Based on the perspective of integrating global digital factor resources to promote the digital transformation of manufacturing industry, this paper explores the influence mechanism and specific effect of digital added value import on the international division of labor status of China's manufac-turing industry, and uses the transnational comprehensive panel data from 2006 to 2018 for empirical analysis. The results show that:(1)Digital factor input can improve the status of international division of labor in China's manufacturing industry, but the status of international digital division of labor in China's manufacturing industry is low,and there is a gap with developed countries.(2)Digital added value imports significantly im-prove the international division of labor status of China's manufacturing industry, among which, digital added value imports have a stronger role in promoting the international division of labor status of China's capital-inten-sive manufacturing industry, and China's digital added value imports from developing countries and RCEP part-ner countries have a stronger role in promoting the international division of labor status of China's manufactur-ing industry.(3)Trade cost, national R&D input and digital technology spatial spillover are important trans-mission mechanisms between digital value added import and international division of labor of China's manufac-turing industry.Digital value added import significantly enhances its positive role in promoting the international division of labor of China's manufacturing industry through the decline of trade costs and the increase of nation-al R&D investment. In addition, the digital added value import has a significant spatial spillover effect on the promotion of the international division of labor status of China's manufacturing industry. Therefore,we should increase domestic investment in digital technology research and development, make full use of international digital factor resources, and promote the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry.
