China's economic system has undergone a remarkable transformation,evolving from a new democratic economy to a highly centralized planned economy and eventually to a socialist market economy.Each stage of this evolution has played a dis-tinct role in advancing China's modernization.Following the reform and opening-up,China established a socialist market eco-nomic system,achieving extraordinary economic growth and laying a solid material foundation for modernization.In the New Era,faced with a complex domestic and international landscape and numerous pressing challenges,there is an urgent need to build a high-level socialist market economy.To achieve this,it is essential to comprehensively deepen reforms,advance China's mod-ernization,and meet the strategic goal of constructing a high-level socialist market economic system.This requires balancing the dynamics between"regulation"and"laissez-faire,"or"order"and"vitality";consolidating the basic socialist economic sys-tem while harmonizing the relationship between public and non-public sectors;leveraging strengths to balance"unity"and"di-versity";and fostering broad societal enthusiasm while maintaining a balance between"firmness"and"initiative."
