Digital Trade Promoting the High Quality Development of Manufacturing Industry:Effect Measurement and Practical Path
This paper empirically tests the multidimensional effects of digital trade in driving the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry in conjunction with the provincial-level panel data from 2011 to 2021 in China.The results show that the development of digital trade can indeed facilitate the high-quality development of China's manufacturing industry.The digital trade can promote the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry through technological innovation effects,factor allocation effects,and industrial integration effects,where the intermediary effect of technological innovation is the greatest,and the core of pushing forward the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry is technological progress.The role of digital trade in the high-quality development of manufacturing industry presents a non-linear characteristic,and the higher the level of development,the stronger the driving force.Further,the spatial spillover effect of digital trade on the high-quality development of manufacturing industry is also significant.and the development of digital trade can give impetus to the high-quality development of manufacturing industry in local and adjacent regions.On this basis,the practical path for developing digital trade to assist the high-quality development of China's manufacturing industry is proposed from four dimensions:construction terminal,regional terminal,industry terminal,and enterprise terminal.
