How Does Digital Economy Development Promote the Export Upgrading of China's Urban Manufacturing Industry——An Empirical Analysis Based on the Mediating Effect Model and Spatial Durbin Model
Based on the panel data of 282 cities in China from 2011 to 2020,this paper empirically tests the impact of digital economy development on urban manufacturing export upgrading, and analyzes its intermediary mechanism and spatial spillover effect. The results show that the digital economy development can not only effectively promote the upgrading of urban manufacturing export, but also have a positive spatial spillover effect on the upgrading of adjacent cities'manufacturing export.Technological innovation and industrial structure upgrading are important intermediary channels for digital economy to drive urban manufacturing export upgrading. In eastern cities, large cities and central cities, the positive effect of digital economy on manufacturing export upgrading is more obvious. In view of this,we should accelerate the cultivation of data factor market and the construction of digital industry cluster, give full play to the radiation and driving role of digital economy, accelerate the innovation and breakthrough of key technologies, promote the optimization and rationalization of industrial structure,so as to better promote the manufacturing industry to climb to the middle and high end of the global value chain.
