Digital Economy,Inter-Rovincial Barriers and Regional Development Gaps:An Analytical Perspective Based on Data Elements and Digital Carriers
This paper uses panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2014 to 2022 to study the relationship between data elements and digital carriers,inter-provincial barriers and regional development gaps.The results show that both data elements and digital carriers have a nonlinear relationship with the regional development gap,but the former and the regional development gap show a"U"shape,while the latter has an inverted"U"shape.Inter-provincial barriers play a moderating role in the relationship between the digital economy and the regional development gap,and the inter-provincial labor circulation barriers strengthen the force of data elements and digital carriers on the regional development gap,showing a positive moderating effect.However,the inter-provincial commodity trade barriers only show the weakening of the force of data elements,which shows a negative moderating effect.In view of this,this paper puts forward suggestions such as accelerating the construction of digital carriers and industrial digital transformation in late-developing regions,breaking down commodity trade barriers,and guiding the reasonable flow of talents.
