Complementary Advantages and Regional Coordinated Development:The Perspectives of Industrial Division of Labor and Cooperation
Based on the theoretical analysis and the results of indicator evaluation, this paper explores the status quo of comparative advantages of industries in major regions in China, and analyses the basis and alternative paths for the realization of regional industrial division of labor and cooperation. The results show that,on the whole, the major regions in China maintain a highly similar industrial structure, the characteristics of industrial competition are still obvious.Promoting regional industry division of labor and cooperation on the basis of complementary advantages is undoubtedly more conducive to regional coordinated development.Unlike the overall industrial structural characteristics, there are obvious differences in the comparative advantages of specific industries in each region, with many industries in the Yangtze River Delta,Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area keeping obvious comparative advantages, and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region,Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and the urban agglomeration of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River having obvious advantages in some industries,so that regions have the necessary conditions to promote a high level of industrial division of labor based on the complementary advantages.Focusing on the characteristics of advantages and role positioning of specific provinces and cities, there are obvious differences in the comparative advantages in related industries.Strengthening the complementary industrial advantages of provinces and cities within and across the region can help provide the basic prerequisites and key impetus for the promotion of regional industrial cooperation and development.
