Digital Transformation and Enterprise Innovation Strategy Selection
Based on the data of Shanghai and Shenzhen A-share listed companies from 2007 to 2022,innovation is divided into breakthrough innovation and progressive innovation,and the impact of digital transformation on the two types of innovation strategies is empirically analyzed.It is found that digital transformation promotes progressive innovation while inhibiting breakthrough innovation.Further research shows that when the enterprise resources are more abundant,that is,the enterprise scale is larger and the financing constraint is weak,the promotion effect of digital transformation on progressive innovation and the inhibition effect on breakthrough innovation will be weakened.Due to larger scale,weaker financing constraints,state-owned enterprises tend to be inclined to breakthrough innovation due to digital transformation.This strategy is contrary to that of private enterprises,indicating that different enterprises have different choices of innovation behaviors under digital transformation.In addition,the inhibition effect of digital transformation on breakthrough innovation is mainly reflected in enterprises in traditional industries.so we should promote breakthrough innovation of enterprises through government-enterprise cooperation,encourage leading enterprises to play a leading role in building an integrated innovation ecology of large and small enterprises,and improve the bank loan mechanism,so as to inject impetus into the transformation and upgrading of economic structure.
