To Achieve Coordinated Development in Underdeveloped Areas in China's Central Regions,It Is Necessary to Handle Five Major Relationships Well—Discussion on Accelerating the High-quality Development of Southern Shaanxi,China
China has a vast territory,complex terrain,and a large population.There are sig-nificant differences in natural conditions and resource endowments among different regions,which is closely related to regional coordinated development.Due to various factors such as econ-omy,culture,history,and location,not only there is a significant gap between the central and western regions and the eastern region,but there are also gradient differences in the devel-opment within some provinces in the central region.As the frontier of the Belt and Road to west-ward,Shaanxi has obvious differences between the north and south,weak complementarity,and prominent problems of uneven and insufficient development among regions.The southern re-gion of Shaanxi accounts for more than 35%of the total area of Shaanxi,but its economic out-put accounts for 11.7%of the total economic output of Shaanxi Province in 2023.The proportion of traditional industries is relatively high,while the development of emerging industries,high-tech industries,and high-end service industries is insufficient.In addition,the uneven and un-coordinated economic development within the region has led to a prominent problem of insuffi-cient potential for innovation driven development.In the face of contradictions in economic de-velopment,these underdeveloped areas need to accurately grasp development opportunities,fully utilize the rich natural ecological resources and profound historical and cultural heritage of the local area,scientifically handle the five relationships between economic and social develop-ment and ecological cultural protection,traditional advantageous industries and emerging indus-tries,local conditions and innovative development,internal coordinated development and stri-ving for excellence,regional development positioning and integration into major national strate-gies.Guided by economic ecology and ecological economy,fully leverage the ecological re-source endowment advantages of southern Shaanxi,accelerate the development of new quality productive forces,achieve new breakthroughs in economic development,promote high-quality green circular development in southern Shaanxi,and achieve comprehensive,coordinated,and sustainable high-quality development.
