Research on New Illegal Fundraising—A Case Study on W City
Illegal fundraising activities,accompanied by rapid economic development,have become a stumbling block for people in developed regions to pursue a happy life.Compared with traditional types of illegal fundraising,the sponsors of new illegal fundraising often use new communication tools and payment methods such as the Internet and WeChat to attract investors with new concepts and new names by establishing companies,and illegally absorb investors'investment funds with financial management and high investment returns as bait to achieve the purpose of illegal possession.These renovated illegal fundraising styles are disguised as semi legal to deceive the public,attracting citizens with surplus money through various investment incentives and tempting promises.The reason behind this is that wealthy citizens cannot distinguish right from wrong in the process of seeking investment options,and are obsessed with high returns,which are exploited by criminals.To truly eradicate the soil of illegal fundraising,local governments need to start from two aspects:first,carry out persistent investment education to encourage citizens to invest rationally;the second is to use newspapers,the Internet and other new and old media tools to do a comprehensive supervision,and try to find and deal with illegal fund-raising issues.
