Study of Guarantees on the Accessibility of Credit for Rural Households——Based on the 2019 China Household Finance Survey(CHFS)
As a risk management tool, guarantees play a crucial role in facilitating rural household financing.Utilizing data from the China Household Finance Survey(CHFS)conducted in 2019,this study employs OLS and Probit models to investigate the impact of guarantees on credit availability for rural households. The findings reveal that guarantees enhance the accessibility of credit for rural households.Additionally, agricultural receivables exacerbate credit constraints faced by these households, while uncollected agricultural receivables amplify the influence of guarantees on credit demand. Moreover, credit cards partially alleviate credit constraints experienced by rural households;however, those with existing credit card debts exhibit reduced inclination towards seeking additional credit. This research provides valuable evidence aimed at addressing the financing predicament encountered by rural households.
