The Impact of Salary Gap on Corporate Innovation from the Perspective of Financing Constraints
We selected Chinese A-share listed companies as research objects and conducted in-depth analysis on the executive employee pay gap and the relationship between executive internal pay gap and corporate innovation from 2010 to 2021.The research results show that differences in executive compensation to some extent contribute to promoting innovative behavior in companies.This indicates that a reasonable compensation incentive mechanism can stimulate the enthusiasm and creativity of the executive team,thereby driving the company to achieve more breakthroughs in technology and product innovation.Meanwhile,by exploring the moderating role of financing constraints in this relationship,it was found that financing constraints have a suppressive effect on the relationship between executive compensation differences and corporate innovation.This means that when companies face financing constraints,even if there is a difference in executive compensation,their innovation activities may be limited to a certain extent.Therefore,when formulating compensation policies and innovation strategies,enterprises need to fully consider the impact of financing constraints.
