Research on Chuandong Tujia Culture Theme Homestay Design Based on Modal Theory-AHP
To preserve and innovate the Tujia culture in Eastern Sichuan and enhance local homestay quality, this study employs meme theory and the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)to articulate cultural characteristics, select cultural factors, and interpret these factors using shape grammar to create new patterns. We introduce translational application strategies such as"drawing inspiration from traditional forms for novel design, applying decorations adaptively, and evolving forms in tandem with function, along with reconfiguring old designs for contemporary use."These are applied to the detailed design practices within homestay spaces, including interface segmentation, ceiling design, door and window embellishments, and integrated decor solutions for both furnishings and fittings. The goal is to offer a reference for preserving Tujia culture, elevating homestay quality, and fostering the local tourism economy.
