Study on the Form and CMF Characteristics of Lacquer Trousseau in the Painting of the Dressing Ladies in Song Dynasty
Historically, the study of furnishings in Song paintings has been mainly focused on furniture, but due to the fact that few furniture objects have been unearthed, the study can only be carried out from the perspective of images and documents. The furnishings in the four pictures of dressing ladies in the Song Dynasty, including the picture of"Looking in a Mirror by an Ornamental Box","Lady at Her Dressing Table in a Garden","Lady Watching a Maid with a Parrot","Flowers Viewing and Washing Hands",include both furniture lacquer ware and dressing lacquer ware, and there are many existing artifacts of lacquer trousseau in Song Dynasty.Starting from the lacquer trousseau, the relevant results can provide practical evidence for the study of the furniture category that lacks physical objects in Song paintings.Using the"triple"evidence method of images, artifacts, and documents,we studied the form, color, and craftsmanship of the lacquer trousseau in the paintings and completed the CMF study of the lacquer trousseau, which found that the lacquer trousseau of Song Dynasty had the form characteristic of making the simpler by the number, the craftsmanship characteristic of the simpler and more complex, and the color characteristic of elegance and vulgarity. The material effect of the lacquer trousseau is mainly presented through shape, color, and workmanship,so the material is integrated into the three to explore.
