Research on Sustainable Innovation Design Methods for Coffee Grounds from the Perspective of Waste Regeneration
The waste generated during the processing of coffee is one kind of material with reuse value and possibility. The aim is to explore through design experiments the search for design strategies for the reuse of coffee grounds and its industry carriers, with a view to promoting sustainable urban life.Firstly, the current situation of the sustainable application of coffee grounds is reviewed from both academic and application perspectives;secondly, the coupling between coffee grounds and takeaway packaging is fully explored based on the current situation of the application of urban takeaway products, combined with the SWOT model analysis;thirdly, curing and molding experiments are conducted on coffee grounds in a controlled variable manner, and then its product characteristics and compliance with industry standards are assessed. Finally,a design strategy for coffee grounds as a packaging material for takeaway products is proposed from the perspective of design theory. This study found that coffee grounds, when mixed with other substances for molding, have good resistance to oil, water, flexibility, and hardness and can be used as part of the insert material for takeaway packaging products.Combined with the current research on takeaway meal experience design, the product design strategy and concept of coffee grounds-based takeaway packaging are proposed, aiming to combat the"heavy"carbon footprint of the earth with the"light"of"discarded material recycling".
