Design for Death:Research on Strategies Based on Painless Death and Life-sustainability
Death is the inevitable end of human life;however, the research on design for death has mainly focused on the historical field of post-mortem burial and cemetery design. There are very few studies on the strategies for relieving death pain and exploring sustainable life design from the perspective of system design. In the face of the rapid aging of the global population,it is a serious issue for the whole society to cope with death in psychological construction, system design, and method design for the elderly so that they can die with more dignity, assurance, and no pain. This paper, based on the theories of thanatology and emotional design, analyzes the influence of cultural, legal, and educational factors in design for death and summarizes the design principles of empathy,user-centeredness,and conscience,as well as expanding the reverse theoretical vision and thinking of"being towards death."It aims to arouse the attention of all sectors of society and seek feasible solutions.
