Research on the Decorative Pattern Design and Application of Korean Peninsula Furniture in the 14th to 19th Centuries Under the Guidance of Confucianism
This paper aims to explore the dominant influence of Confucianism on the design and application of decorative furniture patterns in the Korean Peninsula from the 14th to the 19th centuries.By sorting out the integration and development of Confucianism in the Korean Peninsula and starting from the spatial distribution of traditional residential buildings on the Korean Peninsula,taking different Spaces as research units,this paper studies the design and application of furniture decorative patterns in the Korean Peninsula from 14th to 19th century through the use of image research methods and field investigation methods,and consulting relevant literature,it sorted out the decorative patterns associated with Confucianism,and analyzed that the design of decorative patterns in furniture was influenced by the thoughts of"the three cardinal guides and the five constant virtues"in Confucianism and filial piety(righteousness)in benevolence,and adopted the"Bede theory"and"Bishing theory"two commonly used artistic techniques in Confucianism,It is confirmed that Confucianism dominated the design and application of furniture decorative patterns on the Korean Peninsula from the 14th to the 19th centuries.
