Research on the"Meta"Turn from the Perspective of Interdisciplinary Design Science
This paper aims to explore the specific shifts and methodological issues of design science in the era of the metaverse from an interdisciplinary perspective.Firstly, the paper clarifies the connotation and extension of design science, and expounds on its characteristics as an interdisciplinary subject and its new orientations in the context of the times from the perspective of discipline evolution.Secondly, based on users'functional, social, and experiential needs in the era of the metaverse,a computational design system is proposed for this era, encompassing the data layer, generation layer, representation layer, and computing environment, providing guidance for design science research. Finally, the paper focuses on the"meta"turn of design science and conducts a comprehensive and in-depth discussion from four dimensions:design subject, design object, design method, and application scenario, aiming to provide a new perspective and thinking framework for the future development and research of design science.
