Material Perception Experience in Furniture Product Design:A Literature Review
The perception experience of materials not only enhances the emotional resonance between users and furniture products but also profoundly influences the user's cognition and satisfaction towards these products. This aspect has become an indispensable element in furniture design. However, there is a current lack of systematic analysis in the field of furniture design regarding theories and methodologies related to the perception experience of materials. Therefore, this paper, grounded in existing literature and focusing on furniture product design, systematically reviews four key aspects:the development and formation of material perception and experience, its hierarchical deconstruction, research methods for material perception experience, and methods for selecting furniture materials driven by material perception experience.Upon analysis,it is found that the relationship between material functional properties and perception experience is not clearly defined, leading to a lack of a material selection method for furniture design that satisfies both functional and perception requirements. Finally, this study also looks forward to future research directions in material perception experience in furniture design, suggesting areas for further exploration.
