Research on Sedentary Behavior Characteristics and Influencing Factors of the Elderly in Community Parks
The elderly,as the group with the longest sedentary time, bear significant health risks from prolonged sitting.Community parks are the main venues for their outdoor activities, yet sedentary behavior is frequently observed.Based on instantaneous behavior data and spatial feature data from 47 community park spaces in Xiamen,t-tests and variance analysis reveal differences in elderly sedentary behavior.Multiple linear regression further explores the relationship between environmental characteristics and sedentary behavior. The results show that specific functional spaces and green spaces are significantly negatively correlated with sedentary behavior, while the presence of buildings and the arrangement of tables and benches encourage more sedentary behavior.Based on the sedentary ecology model, this study proposes three strategies to reduce sedentary behavior in community parks, guiding sedentary behavior towards different intensities of physical activity and providing theoretical references for promoting healthy aging.
