Research on Innovative Design of Visual Identification System in Meili Ancient Town in Jiangnan Based on AHP and Grounded Theory
This study focuses on Meili Ancient Town in Jiangnan, exploring the application of regional cultural genes in the innovative design of visual identification systems.Based on meme theory and semiotics, cultural factors of Meili Ancient Town were extracted and analyzed to construct its cultural gene map.The Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)was used to assign weights to cultural factors, determining and screening design priorities. Results indicated that architectural form factors held the highest weight, followed by color, pattern, and material factors.Using the grounded theory framework, user interviews were conducted, and user needs and preferences for visual identification systems were decoded and analyzed. The study refined objective value orientations and achieved innovative design through the translation of typical design forms. This research promotes the integration of regional culture and creative design, providing new paths for urban and rural visual identity system design while enhancing the spirit and cultural atmosphere of the ancient town.
