Objective To explore and analyze the effect of modified high ligation and stripping in the treatment of great saphenous varices. Methods: Forty patients with great saphenous varices who were admitted to our hospital from January 2022 to October 2022 were randomly divided into a control group (conventional high ligation and stripping treatment, n=20 cases) and a research group (modified high ligation and stripping treatment, n=20 cases). The clinical efficacy of surgery, treatment indicators, variceal recovery and quality of life of patients after surgery in two groups were compared. The complications of patients were finally observed and recorded. Results The overall clinical efficacy rate of 95.00% in the treatment group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). The operation time, intraoperative bleeding volume, postoperative antibiotic treatment time and hospitalization time of patients in the study group were (72.83±10.37)min, (38.83±4.59)ml, (1.47±0.54) d and (5.27±1.03) d, respectively, which were shorter or less than those in the control group (P<0.05). Moreover, after treatment, the AVVSS score of the research group was (7.02±1.01) lower than that of the control group, while the CIVIQ score of the research group was (72.58±7.33) higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). The postoperative complication rate of the research group was 10.00%, which was lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Modified high ligation and exfoliation in the treatment of great saphenous varices has reliable effect. The risks of patients during and after operation are lower, which is more conducive to the recovery of postoperative varices, and thus is more conducive to the improvement of prognosis and quality of life of patients, and is worthy of promotion.
