Objective To explore the value of systematic health education in the recruitment and collection of blood donors. Methods: from May 2020 to May 2020,6002021 blood donors were randomly divided into two groups, 300 in each group. The control group was given traditional health education, while the Observation Group was given systematic health education. The anxiety score, Awareness Rate of blood donation knowledge, adverse reaction rate and re-blood donation rate were compared between the two groups before and after intervention. Results: after intervention, the scores of anxiety in the observation group (41.12 ± 5.12) were lower than those in the control group (48.23 ± 5.08) , the difference between the two groups was significant (p < 0.05) , the Awareness Rate of blood donation knowledge including exercise (95.33%) , healthy diet (95.67%) and self-care skills (97.00%) in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (p < 0.05) , the incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 2.67% lower than that in the control group, and the rate of reblood donation was 97.67% higher than that in the control group. The difference between the two groups was significant (p < 0.05) . Conclusion: the systematic health education during the recruitment and collection of blood donors can improve the rate of re-donating blood and the awareness of blood donation knowledge, and relieve the anxiety, good control of adverse reactions of blood donors, in the work of blood stations should be used for reference and promotion.
