Objective To investigate the effect of nifedipine combined with irbesartan on hypertension. Methods: 88 elderly patients with hypertension who were treated in our hospital from March 2021 to March 2022 were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group with 44 cases each. The control group was treated with nifedipine, and the observation group was treated with nifedipine combined with irbesartan. Results: The total effective rate of blood pressure control was 81.82% in the control group and 97.73% in the observation group, which was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05); There were significant differences in echocardiographic indexes (P<0.05); Adverse reaction: 1 case of headache and 2 cases of fatigue in the observation group, with an adverse reaction rate of 6.82%; In the control group, there were 3 cases of headache,5 cases of fatigue and 4 cases of body edema. The adverse reaction rate was 27.27%. The adverse reaction rate in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion: Nifedipine combined with irbesartan can significantly control the blood pressure of patients with hypertension. The clinical treatment effect is better, and the application value is high, which is worth popularizing.
