Objective To analyze the therapeutic effect of montelukast sodium on children with cough variant asthma. Methods: 60 children with cough variant asthma from the pediatric department of Zoucheng Renming Hospital were selected as the subjects of this study. They were all hospitalized in our hospital from June to December 2020. They were randomly divided into the reference group and the study group according to the random arrangement method. The reference group was treated with conventional therapy in 30 cases, and the study group was treated with conventional therapy and montelukast sodium in 30 cases. The symptom relief time, pulmonary function improvement and clinical efficacy were compared. Results: The disappearance time of wheezing, cough and lung wheezing in the study group was shorter than that in the reference group (P<0.05); After treatment, the values of vital capacity (FVC),peak expiratory flow rate (PEF%) and forced expiratory volume (FEV1) in the study group were higher than those in the reference group (P<0.05); The total effective rate of the study group was higher than that of the reference group (P<0.05).Conclusion: The application of montelukast sodium in the treatment of children with this disease has an ideal effect, which can relieve the clinical symptoms and improve the pulmonary ventilation function.
