Objective To explore the effect of fossa and groove sealing combined with fluoride protective paint on the prevention of caries in children''s first permanent molars. Methods: A total of 92 cases (196 cases) of children with first permanent molars who were examined for oral problems in our hospital were selected from October 2019 to October 2020. These children were randomly divided into the reference group (46 cases (99 cases) and the combination group (46 cases (97 cases) by the method of random number table. The children in the control group were treated with fossa sealing, and the children in the combined group were treated with fossa sealing combined with fluoro protective paint. Then the incidence of dental caries and the retention of sealant were compared between the two groups. Results: The incidence of caries in the combined group was only 2.06%,which was significantly lower than that in the control group (15.15%),P<0.05. At the follow-up of 3 months,6 months,12 months and 24 months, the saving rate of the sealant in the combination group was only little different from that in the reference group at the third month,P>0.05,but with the passage of time, the saving rate of the sealant in the combination group was significantly better than that in the reference group,P<0.05. Conclusion: For the prevention of caries in children''s first permanent molars, the combination of fossa and groove sealing with fluoride protective paint can significantly reduce the probability of children''s caries and improve the retention time of sealer. The clinical effect is worthy of affirmation, and it can be widely used for a long time.
