Abstract
Objective To detect the expression of CD44 in normal colorectal mucosa, colorectal adenoma, colorectal cancer and other tissues, and to analyze the relationship between CD44 and clinical and pathological data results.Methods In this study, 20 cases of normal colorectal mucosa, 60 cases of colorectal adenoma and colorectal cancer tissues were included, and the above tissues were immunohistochemically stained with CD44. Results The expression positivity rates of normal colorectal mucosa, colorectal adenoma, and colorectal cancer were 0.0％、73.3％、83.3％, The positive expression rate of CD44 in each group was statistically significant (χ2=49.041, P<0.05); the expression of CD44 was related to the diameter of colorectal cancer (χ2=5.742, P<0.05), the degree of colorectal cancer malignancy (χ2=6.720, P<0.05), TNM staging (χ2=7.255, P<0.05), and lymph node metastasis (χ2=4.819, P<0.05).Conclusion CD44 is not expressed in normal rectal colon tissues.In adenomatous polyps and colorectal cancer tissues, the expression of CD44 is gradually upregulated, and CD44 expression is related to colorectal cancer diameter, tissue differentiation degree, TNM staging, and lymph node metastasis.CD44 is expected to become an early predictive marker and therapeutic target for colorectal cancer.
