Objective To compare the clinical effects of plate internal fixation and intramedullary nailing in the treatment of proximal humeral IV fractures. Methods: Sixty-four patients with proximal humeral partial IV fractures treated in our hospital from January 2019 to January 2022 were randomly selected and divided into two groups by digital table method, named control group and study group, with 32 cases each. The clinical treatment indexes, shoulder joint recovery and complications of the two groups were compared. Results: The operation time, intraoperative bleeding and incision length of patients in the study group were shorter than those in the control group (P<0.001); The shoulder joint function score of patients in the study group was higher than that in the control group at 1, 3 and 6 months (P<0.001).Conclusion: Both intramedullary nailing and plate internal fixation can effectively treat proximal humeral IV fracture with high safety, which is beneficial to actively promote the rehabilitation of patients.
