Objective To analyze the clinical application effect of patient-controlled epidural analgesia (PCEA) for labor analgesia.Method: 100 postpartum women who underwent delivery in our hospital were into observation group (n=50) and control group (n=50).The observation group received PCEA delivery analgesia, while control group received routine delivery analgesia intervention.Result: The VAS scores of both groups of postpartum women before analgesia were comparable (P>0.05); In observation group,VAS scores were lower than control group at the onset of analgesia, 1 hour of analgesia, and 2 hours of the analgesia (P<0.05); The first, second, and total labor process time were shorter than control group (P<0.05); The third stage of labor time of the two groups of parturients was equivalent (P>0.05); The natural delivery rate of observation group (90.00%) was higher than control group (62.00%), (P<0.05); The 1-minute and 5-minute Apgar scores of the two groups of newborns were comparable (P>0.05). Conclusion: PCEA delivery analgesia can significantly reduce degree of labor pain during childbirth, thereby promoting the progress of labor, shortening duration of labor, and improving the natural delivery rate.It does not affect the safety of newborns and has high safety.
