Objective To explore the role of ICOPE internal ability screening scale in the clinical evaluation of aging patients. MethodsA total of 213 elderly patients who were hospitalized in the geriatric department of Dongying People''s Hospital from September 2021 to June 2022 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into non asthenia group, pre asthenia group and obvious asthenia group according to the Frail Scale. The age of the three groups and the score of ICOPE internal ability screening scale were compared. ResultsThere was a statistical difference in the age of the three groups of elderly patients. Further comparison between the two groups showed that the age of the obviously debilitated group was significantly greater than that of the non debilitated group (P<0.05). In addition, there was no significant difference in the age of the non debilitated group and the pre debilitated group, and between the pre debilitated group and the obviously debilitated group. The internal ability screening scores of the ICOPE scale of the three groups of elderly patients were statistically different. By comparison, the scores of the pre asthenia group and the obvious asthenia group were significantly lower than those of the non asthenia group (P<0.05), while the scores of the obvious asthenia group were significantly lower than those of the pre asthenia group (P<0.05). Conclusion The ICOPE internal ability screening scale can comprehensively and objectively evaluate the aging degree of the elderly, which is helpful for medical and health care personnel to better formulate targeted intervention methods and improve the prognosis of the elderly.
