Geological features and metallurgical performance of Laoguangshan magnesite mine in Haicheng City,Liaoning Province
The Laoguangshan magnesite deposit is located in Haicheng City,Liaoning Province. The magnesite ore body occurs in the magnesium carbonate rock layers of the Dashiqiao Formation of the Liaohe Group in the Paleoproterozoic. It belongs to the sedimentary metamorphic type of coarse-grained to fine-grained crystalline magnesite deposit. The deposit can be divided into three magnesite ore bodies:Mg1,Mg2,and Mg3.The controlling length of the Mg2 ore body is 800m,with an average thick-ness of 246.14 m and a controlled slope depth of 39.6-513 m.The average grade of the ore body is MgO:45.48%,CaO:0.73%,SiO2:3.56%.The types of ore can be divided into two types:pure magnesite type ore and high silica type ore.The pure magnesium type ore in the Mg2 ore body is mostly distributed in the east, while the west is mostly high silica type. The content of deep pure magnesium type ore increases. When the Laoguangshan magnesite reaches the minimum usable industrial index, the original ore contains 7.96%silicon,making it a relatively easy ore dressing stone.
